Tewkesbury Liberal Democrats have re-selected Alistair Cameron as their Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the next General Election.
Alistair Cameron is a former Leader of Cheltenham Borough Council and a former Gloucestershire County Councillor. He was the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Tewkesbury at the last General Election where he increased the Liberal Democrat vote and moved the party from third to second place in the constituency ahead of Labour.
The Liberal Democrats are still celebrating their successes at last Thursday's Tewkesbury Borough Council elections where they gained six extra seats from the Conservatives, Labour and independents. There are now seventeen Liberal Democrats on the Council compared with nineteen Conservatives and two Tewkesbury Independents. There are no Labour members of the Council.
Alistair said:
"Following our successes at last Thursday's Borough Council elections we have real momentum behind us. Many people who previously voted Labour will be voting Liberal Democrat as we are the only ones who can beat the Conservatives.
As Prospective Parliamentary Candidate I want to work for everyone within Tewkesbury Constituency, in the towns and villages, in the rural and urban areas and in the parts of Cheltenham and Gloucester which are within this large constituency."
