Cheltenham's MP Martin Horwood is delighted that a local beer will soon be stocked in the Houses of Parliament.
The beer, Cheltenham SPA from Battledown Brewery in Keynsham Street, is to be available in the House of Commons bar for one week, commencing Monday 23 July.
Martin has been campaigning for local beers to be stocked in supermarkets and pubs, and recently tabled an Early Day Motion in parliament to build support amongst other MPs.
Commenting, Martin said:
"It is great news that a local beer from Cheltenham is going to be available in the House of Commons bar for other MPs to sample.
What I would really like to see now is for local beers to be regularly stocked in local supermarkets and pubs so that local people have an opportunity to support a local business and help the environment by cutting down on 'food miles' too."
