Cheltenham's MP Martin Horwood has praised the work of volunteer-led local charities aiming to help families and individuals who've reached the end of their tether. The Samaritans listen to anyone who calls them with understanding and advice while Relate have expanded their service from troubled couples to whole families. Both depend on local volunteer help but use paid professional staff too..
'Keeping families together when that's the right thing to do is important for all of us' said Martin. 'These fantastic local organisations are reaching to all of us when we need them. None of us knows when we're going to hit a family crisis' said Martin 'and it's good to think there are well-trained people out there with our best interests at heart.'
