Martin Horwood has thrown his weight behind local radio following proposed BBC cuts. The Cheltenham MP submitted a parliamentary motion on Thursday highlighting the role played by Radio Gloucestershire during last summer's flood crisis as evidence of the importance of the service.
Mr Horwood was supported by Gloucestershire MPs from all three main parties.
He said the station had provided "high quality and accurate information" and added: "I would be really worried if this sort of service were seriously threatened by the BBC cutbacks announced last year, and want to see BBC management recognise the value of its local media outlets."
