Martin Horwood issues statement on University of Gloucestershire's plans for the future

4.14.00pm GMT Wed 12th Mar 2008

Martin Horwood has today issued the following statement regarding the University of Gloucestershire's plans for the future:

"I remain very concerned at the closure of the Pittville campus and the loss of an important focus for media and arts learning in Cheltenham. But I am keeping in touch with the university about their plans and hope that it will fulfill its ambition to remain central to the life and future of the town. I obviously welcome any plans for the university to strengthen rather than weaken its presence in Cheltenham and would certainly welcome the opportunity for new public library services to be developed for all local people."
