Max's Plan to tackle the climate crisis
Max has a strong record of action from his time as a Councillor, where he led Cheltenham in being the first Council to declare a climate emergency, established the Cheltenham Green Deal, and set up the Council's dedicated climate change department. He is building on this record as Cheltenham's MP and has wasted no time in pushing the government to go further on tackling climate change. After joining Parliament as an MP, one of Max’s first actions was to join a cross-party group of MPs campaigning on the environment.
The Sunshine Bill
The Sunshine Bill is a simple measure that will make a huge difference. Max was lucky enough to win a ballot to try and change the law.
He developed the Sunshine Bill, which will mandate all new homes are built to include solar generation
technology as standard. Powering our homes with renewable technology will help bring bills down for homeowners and make our homes better for the planet. It's a win-win.
